YWCA

October is domestic violence awareness month; intimate partner violence affects women, men, and children and is the third leading cause of homelessness among families.
Please show your support for victims and survivors by attending the YWCA of Kaua‘i annual Candlelight Vigil, Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at St. Michael and All Angels Church. This year’s theme is “Listen; I have a Voice”.
Entertainment and refreshments between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m.; the program commences at 6 p.m. and closes with the lighting of candles at 7 p.m. Childcare will be provided from 5:45 p.m. to 7 p.m. For more information, call 245-8404.

In October, the YWCA of Kaua’i joins with our sister associations across the nation for A Week Without Violence. A variety of events are planned island wide for youth and adults alike. One highlight is the Candlelight Vigil which brings the community together to remember and honor the victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. It is a special time to especially remember the victims that did not survive these crimes.
