Wilcox Health Foundation gala to celebrate hospital’s 75th anniversary

PR-IMG_2272-copyThe Wilcox Health Foundation will host “The 75th Soiree: A Sparkling Birthday Celebration,” a fundraiser to support the not-for-profit Wilcox Memorial Hospital, on Saturday, November 9 from 5 – 10 p.m. at the Kauai Marriott Resort Ballroom. Table sponsorships and individual tickets are available by calling 245-1198.

Marking the diamond anniversary of the hospital, guests will walk the red carpet at a glittering gala while being serenaded by a barbershop quartet of some of Wilcox’s favorite doctors. They’ll pose for pictures with hospital nurses, bid on auction items such as airline tickets, vacation stays and sailboat cruises, and enjoy entertainment from some of Kauai’s best musicians plus a few surprises.

Event proceeds will be used to provide the Kaua‘i community with vital life-saving equipment for the hospital’s Gastroenterology Department. Hospital officials noted that Kauai County has the highest incidence of colorectal cancer in the United States, and early diagnosis and treatment gives patients the best chance of survival. The Wilcox Memorial Hospital Endoscopy Equipment Replacement Project will provide new gastroscopes, colonoscopes and other state-of-the-art equipment that will allow Wilcox doctors to vastly improve disease identification and treatment.
