Tai Ji master Chungliang Al Huang, a featured presenter at the 12th Annual Kaua‘i Wellness Expo, is an internationally acclaimed artist, author and dancer. Founder and president of the Living Tao Foundation, Chungliang is a highly regarded authority of Tai Ji, Taoism and related disciplines, and a best-selling author on the mind/body/spirit integration.

His best-selling books include the classic “Embrace Tiger, Return to Mountain,” translated into 14 languages, and in its 35th year of publication. Other titles include “Essential Tai Ji,” “Quantum Soup” and “The Chinese Book of Animal Powers.”

From the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, Calif., to the world’s major capitals, he shares the stage with such luminaries as His Holyness the 14th Dalai Lama.

Chungliang’s successful career as a dancer and choreographer include performances with Sammy Davis Jr. and Bruce Lee; and movies “Flower Drum Song” and “Green Hornet.” Musical collaborations include Lorin Hollander, Paul Horn, David Darling, Michael Fitzpatrick, John Denver, Joan Baez, Andreas Vollenweider and many others.

His mission for personal empowerment aligns with the Expo’s theme Malama Na ‘Ohana, or Care for the Family.

Chungliang will present “Embodying Your Qi-Full Practice with Tai Ji Ritual forms and Creative Dancing for Optimal Wellness” at the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall Jan. 30 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., with reception to follow. Cost is $45.
