Join the staff and friends of Mahelona Memorial Hospital for their 5th Annual Breast Cancer Walk to spread awareness and celebrate survivorship and honor those touched by cancer.

The event will be at the Ke Ala Hele Makalae (Kapa‘a multi-use path) Friday, starting at 9:30 a.m. behind the Kapa‘a Neighborhood Center. Walkers are encouraged to wear pink.

The Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i will provide refreshments, and Safeway will provide pink roses. Entertainment will be provided by Ilima Rivera, the Kapa‘a High School Band, and the Polynesian Musical Group under the direction of Katherine Paleska.

The hospital is asking for volunteers to push wheelchair-bound residents. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Call Josie at 823-4138 or Jay at 823-4120 for more information.

The event is sponsored by Mahelona Auxiliary and Hawai‘i Tourism and Lodge Association.
