Waimea, Kapa‘a swimming pools to close on Sundays due to staffing shortage

Due to a staffing shortage, the Waimea and Kapa‘a swimming pools will be closed on Sundays until further notice.

The change will take effect starting on Sunday, Feb. 4. The pools will resume normal Sunday hours once the staffing shortage is alleviated.

The facilities in Waimea and Kapa‘a are closed on Mondays and holidays.

The hours of operation for the Waimea pool are as follows:

• Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. (open swim);
• Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. (adult swim) and 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (open swim):

The hours of operation for the Kapa‘a pool are as follows:

• Tuesday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. (open swim), due to high school swim practices (operational hours will resume to 4:30 p.m. once practices are complete at the end of February);

• Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. (adult swim) and from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (open swim);
