Uncle’s Shave Ice Opens New Location in Lihue

Uncle’s Shave Ice, located in Poipu at The Shops at Kukui’ula, is opening a second location at the Safeway shopping center in Lihue at Hokulei Village on Friday April 22nd. The shop is conveniently located across the street from the YMCA Pool and Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School and easily accessible from the Petco side of the center.

Uncle’s new store in Lihue will be themed Uncle’s Garage, filled with fun racing and car gear, along with a 7’ gumball machine that is a replica of an old gas pump. Customers can bring their favorite car photos and add them to our wall of fame, and be sure to check out the license plate collection Uncle has displayed from every state and the District of Columbia. Uncle’s Shave Ice in Lihue will be a great place for families to come after lunch or school, after a Safeway stop, or even after dinner. Uncle’s Shave Ice will be open daily until 9pm.

During the Grand Opening celebration enter to win an Uncle’s sweet treat of your choice for a year. One lucky winner will get to visit Uncle’s Shave Ice and pick anything on the menu every week for a year! Enter at Uncle’s Garage at Hokulei Village from April 22 – May 17th.

Uncle’s Shave Ice is also introducing the new Student Card, where elementary to college students can buy this discount card for $15 and receive four regular shave ice or one flavor shave snow servings at a savings of $6.00!

In 2015 Uncle’s was named Best of the Best Shave Ice by Garden Island Newspaper readers and is proud to serve the community of Kauai with a host of treats including Shave Ice, Shave Snow, Caramel Apples, Frozen Chocolate Bananas, and Honey Toast.

“I was thrilled and honored when I found out that we won Best Shave Ice on Kauai last year and was excited to be able to share our sweet treats with more residents and visitors at our new shop at Hokulei Village,” said Uncle Rick Lovesy, owner. “Our team works hard to enhance every detail of the shave ice, shave snow, and Honey Toast experience so our customers get the very best product every time they visit Uncle’s.”
