The Shops at Kukui`ula Welcomes Award-Winning Boutique Mahina

Affordable beachy chic boutique, Mahina opens new retail location at The Shops at Kukui‘ula.

The Shops at Kukui`ula is thrilled to welcome award-winning retail merchant Mahina to their growing community of fashion retailers.  Opening on Sunday, May 25<sup>th</sup>, the Hawai`i boutique chain offers their own extraordinary line of contemporary women’s clothing unique to island lifestyles.

Founded in 2006 on the island of Maui, Mahina has grown to six stores across three islands (Maui, Oahu, Hawai`i) and has become a much sought-after brand in Hawai`i. Voted “Maui’s Best” for the last six years in a row, this “affordable beachy chic boutique” offers perfectly edited collections of soft, breezy sundresses, wearable tops, and accessories in a welcoming environment for women who love to shop.  “It was our goal to create a store that evokes a feeling of shopping your most fashion-forward friend’s closet.  And we’ve always tried to keep things from being too expensive, so that dress you just have to have is never out of reach,” said Joe Wilmot, co-owner of Mahina with partner Jody Curtin.

The new Poipu store, led by store manager Hope Johnson, boasts over 1,300 square feet of total retail square footage.  “We are particularly excited about Sunday’s opening. Not only will this be our biggest store yet, it also means that Mahina is now on all major Hawaiian Islands,” said Wilmot.  “Mahina makes an excellent addition to the growing collection of fashion retailers here at The Shops at Kukui`ula.  Mahina is unique in that its appeal is strong with local residents and visitors alike.  We couldn’t be more delighted to welcome them into our ‘ohana,” said Helaine Perel, Real Estate Manager of The Shops at Kukui`ula.
