Hale ‘Opio Kaua‘i is Chosen for You Dine, We Donate in December

As the island gears up for the holidays and winds down 2014, Sheraton Kauai Resort is focusing on Kaua‘i’s youth for its “You Dine, We Donate,” program.  In the month of December, “You Dine, We Donate” will benefit Hale ‘Opio Kaua‘i, and all net food and beverage proceeds from Table #53 in the resort’s signature restaurant, RumFire Poipu Beach, will be donated to the organization.

Hale ‘Opio Kaua‘i, Inc. is dedicated to improving young people’s quality of life, enhancing a sense of belonging, increasing self-awareness and strengthening  ‘ohana by providing residential and community programs for education, prevention, diversion and treatment. Founded forty years ago on Kaua‘i, Hale ‘Opio offers over twenty programs that are gender specific and culturally adapted including teen pregnancy and dating violence prevention, work readiness and independent living skills, in-school programs with youth and families, diversion programs from juvenile court and more.  Hale ‘Opio provides mental health treatment services in family settings and is the island’s emergency shelter provider for young people ages 0 to 18.

“The young people of our island will shape our future,” says Sheraton Kauai Resort General Manager Chip Bahouth. “Table 53 is a great way to surround ourselves with loved ones during this holiday season and support the youth in our community.”

RumFire Poipu Beach, the south shore’s oceanfront hot spot, features locally sourced cuisine with global influences, exciting cocktails to ignite your palate and 180-degree oceanfront views from all of its 240 seats. Table 53 features private booth seating overlooking the beautifully landscaped Ocean Courtyard, inviting fire pits, and Kaua‘i’s stunning sunsets. Patrons who are interested in participating in RumFire’s month-long “You Dine, We Donate” program are encouraged to make reservations in advance by calling 808.742.4786 and requesting Table 53. The table is available on a first come, first serve basis. Net proceeds for all food and beverage at Table #53 during dinner service will be donated to the Hale ‘Opio Kaua‘i, gratuity will be paid to the server and taxes will be remitted to the State of Hawai‘i.
