Event is Part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts’ “Together as One” Global Campaign

Sheraton Kauai Resort and St. Regis Princeville invite the community to join its chefs for a memorable evening of great food and great beer to raise funds for a worthy cause. On Thursday, November 13, the resorts’ chefs will take over Kauai Beer Company’s popular Truck Stop Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and 100% of the ticket proceeds will be donated to Hawaii Foodbank – Kauai Branch. The event underscores the resorts’ ongoing efforts to create a positive impact in the Kaua‘i community and is part of “Together as One,” Starwood Hotels & Resorts’ two-week global volunteer campaign.
Food offerings at STARChefs for a Cause will include delicious small plates from Nalu Kai and Makana Terrace at St. Regis Princeville, and Lava’s on Poipu Beach at Sheraton Kauai Resort. Offerings will include comforting favorites with a global twist, such as an Ultimate Grilled Cheese Sandwich with brioche bread, gruyere cheese, beer-braised short ribs, pickled Maui onions, pappadew peppers and arugula, House-Made Truffle Tater Tots and more.

Tickets for the event will be sold at the door at Kauai Beer Company and will cost $15 for three scripts. Additional scripts will be available at $5 per.

“We created this event to help support our local community in a fun and delicious way,” said Sheraton Kauai’s General Manager, Chip Bahouth. “The more you eat, the more we’re able to raise funds for the Hawaii Foodbank – Kauai Branch so that no one in our island ohana goes hungry.”

To complement the STARChefs for a Cause event, an associate-driven food drive will be held at both St. Regis Princeville and Sheraton Kauai. Further, Sheraton Kauai’s “You Dine, We Donate” fundraising program will benefit Hawaii Foodbank – Kauai Branch for November. All net food and beverage proceeds from Table 53 in the resort’s signature restaurant, RumFire Poipu Beach, will be donated for the monthly “You Dine, We Donate” program. Reservations are recommended.

The “Together as One” campaign is running this November across Starwood’s global portfolio of nearly 1,200 hotels as part of “Starwood Cares for the Community” – a company-wide program launched earlier this year to promote and support volunteerism with the goal of building better communities. Through its Social Responsibility efforts, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide addresses issues such as workforce development, conservation, human rights, and cultural vitality.
