I’ve been hearing about the iconic South Pacific movie for more than two decades, but I confess I have never seen it.

So when I accepted an invitation to attend the musical at Kaua‘i Beach Resort, I wasn’t sure if I should’ve been either ashamed for not having watched the movie or stoked that the whole evening was going to be a complete surprise.

Besides Mariya Kai Jones, For Kaua‘i Sales and Marketing Director, and I, there was only one other local resident in the audience of the sold out show. Everyone else was a visitor, which made sense because the show is in a resort.

But truth is, we local residents are missing out big time. I haven’t had this much fun since Vegas. By the time I left, I had experienced every emotion in the book. And the dinner buffet prior to the show was pretty good too. Did I mention there is a kama‘aina discount?

I hope more local residents find out about this. It’s got to be one of Kaua‘i’s best evening activities.
