Registration for the summer golf classes will be held Monday, June 15, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Wailua Golf Course pro shop, according to a news release by the County of Kaua‘i.

The program is open to youngsters ages 7 to 15. The registration fee is $35 per child per session.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing concerns, only the first 16 applicants will be accepted. Additionally, all participants are required to wear a cloth face covering.

Two sessions are being offered at the Wailua Golf Course: first session from June 29 to July 10; second session from July 13 to July 24. The sessions will run Monday to Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., and on Fridays, from 1 to 5 p.m. No classes will be held on July 3 in observance of Independence Day.

Participants will need to bring a golf bag along with the following clubs: a driver; No. 5, 7 and 9 irons; putter; and a pitching wedge. Sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, snack and a beverage are recommended.

Only parents or legal Guardians of the child must sign the waiver form. If you are not that person, but are signing the form for them, you must attach a Power-of-Attorney or notarized document stating you are legally authorized to sign on behalf of the parents or legal guardians. You will be required to show your driver’s license or an identification card to verify your I.D. and signature.

If you need an auxiliary aid/service or other accommodation due to a disability, contact the Department of Parks and Recreation at 241-4460 or dagaran@kauai.gov as soon as possible. Requests made as early as possible will allow adequate time to fulfill your request. Upon request, this notice is available in alternate formats such as large print, Braille, or electronic copy.
