Power of the Drum: Workshop Coming

An Indian drum making workshop will be led by Chippewa artist, David Craig, in Wailua June 1, and Waimea, June 2. Participants will make a 12, 14 or 18-inch elk hide hand drum.  Materials used in making the drum will include a rosewood round, elk skin head with rawhide lacing and a beater. David will share his Chippewa teachings of the drum, its history, uses and care while instructing participants through the drum making process.
