Having Fun While Paddling for Your Health

Pu’uwai Canoe Club is forming a cancer survivors group at the Wailua River in Kapa’a.  It is modeled after the Mana`olana Maui group.  Our mission is to cultivate hope, health, fitness and fun for cancer survivors and supporters.

Utilize traditional Hawaiian Outrigger canoes to encourage physical exercise, build confidence and friendships.  We prove, by example, that exercise can make a difference and demonstrate that persons living with and recovering from this disease can lead full and active lives.

Become a Pink Paddler and join Pu’uwai Outrigger Canoe Club on January 20 at the Wailua River at 5 PM.  Directions: Pu’uwai Canoe club is located at the mouth of the Wailua River on the Malka side of the highway and the north (Safeway) side of the river.  From Kuhio highway turn uphill on Ku`amoo road and turn left onto Wailua Road which is directly across from the old Cocoa Palms Hotel parking.  Park your car in the large parking area across from the green Smith’s Ticket Office on that corner and walked straight down to the Wailua River.  We will meet at Pu`uwai canoes near the bridge.

Membership is open to cancer survivors, supporters and their friends.  Make a difference for yourself an others.  For more information, call Brian Curll at 808 635-6311, Bcurll@aol.com
