The National Tropical Botanical Garden and Kaua‘i Community College present their first collaborative event of 2019 in the ongoing Earth Matters public lecture series on Tuesday, Jan. 8 from 5:30 p.m. with a panel discussion “Building Resilience in the Face of Climate Change,” according a news release from NTBG.

Panel speakers will include NTBG President Chipper Wichman, Kaua‘i County Council, Planning Chair Mason Chock, Kaua‘i Emergency Management Administrator Elton Ushio, science writer Jan TenBruggencate, and Marine Protected Areas Consultant Anne Walton.

The panel will discuss Kaua‘i’s changing conditions and ideas for building resilience at the household and community level in the face of climate change. The talk will be held in the KCC Campus Center Cafeteria behind the Performing Arts Center.
