Born and raised on Kauaʻi, Alfiler graduated from Kapaʻa High School. She attended Kauaʻi Community College where she earned her Associates Degree in Accounting and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.

Alfiler said, “I am grateful and humbled by the opportunity to continue working with my KIUC ʻOhana and members of our island home, Kauaʻi.”

Maile, her husband Dustin, and five children: Kekoa, Chelsey, Trestin, Kai and Ashley, live in Kapahi. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and volunteers with youth sports organizations.
