When Lava Lava Beach Club opened its flagship restaurant at the Waikoloa Beach Resort on the Big Island of Hawaii in 2012, dining out exhaled. “Eric von Platen Luder and I wanted to present a uniquely beachfront experience that would appeal to both the board shorts and bikini crowd alongside family gatherings and more formal weddings,” said co-owner Scott Dodd. Wildly successful, Lava Lava Beach Club set new standards for island inspired cuisine and creative cocktails served up with a relaxed Hawaiian vibe. In fact, Lava Lava Beach Club was recently honored as one of the Top 100 Best Outdoor Dining Restaurants in America by OpenTable.

Lava Lava Beach Club at the Kauai Shores Hotel, opened this week as Hawaii’s newest beachfront restaurant. “The location – right on the beach on Kauai’s Coconut Coast – is spectacular,” said co-owner Eric von Platen Luder. “Our team looked at several locations around Hawaii that had tremendous potential, and this one was perfect.”

Presenting a uniquely Kauai beachfront experience, Lava Lava Beach Club features a 250-seat open air restaurant and bar. Set on stunning beachfront in Kapaa, Lava Lava Beach Club’s mission is to create a fun, beachfront destination where guests can dine, drink, celebrate or simply relax in laidback Hawaiian-style luxury.

Lava Lava Beach Club includes an indoor-outdoor dining experience where guests can lounge on comfy couches and enjoy fire pits, live Hawaiian music and hula.

Lava Lava Beach Club is open daily, serving breakfast from 7 to 10 am, lunch from 11 am to 2 pm, Happy Hour from 3 to 5 pm, dinner from 5 to 9 pm and late night bar food from 8 to 10 pm.

Innovative menu offerings include their signature pineapple fried rice dish named by USA Today for its creative use of pineapple, Hukilau Chowder, Hail Caesar, FOB (Fresh off the Boat) Sandwich, Fish-Tacular Ahi Burger, Hook, Line & Sinker, Huggo’s Teriyaki Steak, Veg Out on the Beach and Simple Fish.

Specially blended tropical cocktails and the sounds of live music will add to the beach vibe of a perfect Kauai day.

Lava Lava Beach Club on Kauai employs 160 people and features free valet parking. Aqua Hospitality recently completed a $10-million renovation on the adjacent Kauai Shores Hotel.

Jose Fuentes, the restaurant’s General Manager, has opened several restaurants in many regions of the country including CBS Scene with the Krafts of the New England Patriots. Recently married, his wife’s career brought them to Kauai where they fell in love with the island. “We knew right away that Kauai was our home,” said Fuentes.

Lava Lava Beach Club Kauai was designed by Kory Wong-Oglesby with Dezigns Interior Planning in Honolulu.
