The Shops at Kukui‘ula’s inaugural Keiki Holiday Bash, with help from the community, raised more than $1,700 and 430 pounds of food for the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank Dec. 9. The community event encouraged shoppers to bring canned goods or provide a small donation to help KIFB Holiday Food Drive’s mission to feed Kaua‘i’s hungry during the holiday season.

“We are thankful for the partnership with Alexander & Baldwin and The Shops at Kukui‘ula,” KIFB Director Kelvin Moniz said. “The donations and canned goods raised at the Keiki Bash will do a lot of good in our community and will help to serve many Kauai families in need through our various programs.”

The Keiki Holiday Bash included a visit with Santa, face painting, arts and crafts, a holiday concert with Kapa‘a Middle School Choir, a live music performance by Wally Rita y los Kauaianos and, of course, snow.

“We are thrilled with the success of our Keiki Holiday Bash and, more importantly, to see families, especially the children, celebrating the holidays with us and contributing to a great cause,” said Stacie Chiba-Miguel, Senior Property Manager at The Shops at Kukui‘ula. “We’re proud to support Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank’s Holiday Food Drive.”
