Three performances of Kaua`i Sings! Gershwin left audiences intoxicated and wondering what could possibly be next! The answer is Kaua`i Sings! Motown, coming September 21 through 23. In the meantime, with Arnold Meister’s smooth emceeing and the varied voices of about 20 singers, Gershwin sprang to life at the Hukilau Lanai. This popular concert series benefits Malama Pono Health Services and is usually a sell-out. Gross receipts for the Gershwin concerts were approximately $8,000 plus some sponsorship from AXA Advisors — financial advisers and brokers for mutual funds, including IRAs and 401(k) accounts.

Reserve your table for the September Kaua`i Sings! Motown gig by calling 246-9577. And plan to attend the 6th Annual Kaua`i Sings! Christmas with its theme of Christmas around the World, scheduled for Saturday, December 8 at the Kilohana Lu`au Pavilion.

Kaua`i Sings! began in 2006 as an emergency fundraiser for Malama Pono. It was an intsant hit and raised over $4,000 in one night. Now it’s a three-times-per year gig, never repeats a theme and has raised over $100,000 for Malama Pono and other island agencies.
