Kauai 5th Annual Marathon

Grand Hyatt Kauai hosted the Kauai Marathon’s business after hours Thursday, March 7 in the Ilima Terrace restaurant. L to R Dickie Chang, Wala`au; Diann Hartman, Public Relatons Manager; Doug Sears, General Manager; Ron Wiley, KONG radio; Malani Bilyeu provided music for the event.

About 125 members of the Kauai Chamber of Commerce, their guest and business leaders joined together at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort in the Ilima Terrace restaurant to help kick off the 5th annual Kauai Marathon. The marathon will be held later this year in September. Mayor Bernard Carvalho greeted guests and encouraged all to participate and gave thanks to all that have helped this event grow over the years.

Guest speaker Mike McCarthy for HVCB gave a brief overview of the up turn in the visitor industry numbers and shared how events such as this have help our economy.
