Ho`āla Mai – The Queen’s Lu`au & Legacy Celebration Saturday, September 2nd from Noon to 5 pm at Waipa

HO`ĀLA MAI 2017 is a signature fundraiser event presented by the Kaipuwai Foundation.

Held annually on the Labor Day weekend, proceeds raised support the program and scholarship initiatives of the Foundation, as well as Hālau Palaihiwa O Kaipuwai and Studio HA`A.

HO`ĀLA MAI will include a delicious Hawaiian lū`au, continuous music and hula entertainment, a Silent Auction and Mākeke, locally made arts and crafts, other food and refreshments, raffle tickets for great prizes and drawings, amazing entertainment will feature Dennis Wong, John Kepa Mahi and Wailoa. Kumu Hula, Kēhaulani Kekua and Hālau Palaihiwa O Kaipuwai will offer a hula kahiko performance of traditional chants and hula kahiko honoring Queen Lili`uokalani’s 179th birthday anniversary.

Special headline appearances of two Nā Hōkū Hanohano award winners, will feature Josh Tatofi and Nāpua Greig. Tatofi will be performing music from his Best Island Music Album of the Year, “Pua Kiele”, along with popular tunes and hits from previous recording projects. Greig, who is also the kumu hula of the acclaimed Maui hālau, Nā Lei Kau Maka O Uka will be performing songs from her brand new release, “Makawalu”. Both Tatofi and Greg have consistently held top spots on the Hawaiian music charts for both of their albums.

Bring mats, blankets or beach chairs for optional lawn seating. No coolers or outside food and beverage allowed.
