Wilcox Health, which comprises Wilcox Medical Center and Kaua‘i Medical Clinic, will host a free community event about bone and joint conditions on Wednesday, April 18. “Healthier Bones for a Healthier Life” will be held at 5:30 p.m. at Wilcox Medical Center, and features an open house and talk-story with members of the Wilcox Bone & Joint Center team.

Among the topics to be addressed at the event are:

  • Conditions of the hand, including carpal tunnel, trigger finger and hand arthritis – Dr. Alyssa Carnegie, orthopedic hand surgeon
  • Conditions of the foot, including heel pain – Dr. Tyler Chihara, podiatrist
  • Total ankle replacement surgery – Dr. Daniel Judd, orthopedic surgeon

“Our physicians at the Wilcox Bone & Joint Center are board certified in specific areas and have special expertise in sports medicine, pediatrics, foot and ankle, hand and upper extremity, arthritis and joint replacement,” said Jen H. Chahanovich, President & CEO of Wilcox Medical Center and CEO of Kaua‘i Medical Clinic. “Through events like this, we hope to share useful information and resources with the public about bone and joint care, including surgical and non-surgical treatment options for orthopedic conditions offered by our team.”
