Throw together the aloha spirit, Celtic music and Scottish food, and you’ve got a great formula for fundraising for education.

Tickets are now available for the 15th Annual Rotary Club of West Kaua‘i Burn’s Supper Scottish Banquet Jan. 31 at Wrangler’s Steakhouse in Waimea. Proceeds from the event will go toward scholarships for Waimea High School seniors.

The event begins at 5 p.m. with pupus, no-host cocktails and bidding on silent auction donations from local businesses to support the fundraiser.

Last year, the Rotary Club of West Kaua‘i raised enough in partnership with local businesses to present five $1,000 scholarships to graduating students pursuing post-secondary education.

At about 5:45 p.m., the grand march of the Celtic Pipes and Drums of Hawai‘i will precede the call to dinner. The band will play an opening set followed by a customary Scottish opening to call the host to a traditional dinner complete with Haggis.

The cost of tickets is $80 per person. Call Wrangler’s at 338-1218 or Dave Walker at 652-0616 for tickets and information.
