Bring your entire ‘ohana to celebrate “Family Fun Day” at Kukui Grove Center in Lihu‘e Wednesday, Oct. 9. This free, family-oriented event coincides with fall break week, and will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Acclaimed children’s musician Uncle Wayne will be performing at the mall’s Keiki Korner play area. There will be keiki fun crafts and family resource tables.

The underlying purpose is to celebrate and strengthen families. This is also a great opportunity for organizations to do something fun and informative when parents/guardians and keiki are looking for activities to do during fall break.

This event is part of a series of “Family Fun Day” events that Family Hui and the Hawai‘i Children’s Action Network is putting on throughout the state.\

The target audience for the event are children age 8 years and younger and their families. The theme is on child abuse and neglect prevention, family strengthening, positive parenting as well as healthy Keiki (e.g. healthy nutrition, lead prevention, water safety etc.).

The event is sponsored by Hawai‘i Children’s Action Network and Family Hui Hawai‘i, with support from DOH to conduct promotional educational events on child abuse and neglect prevention and family strengthening. Hale Opio is co-sponsoring the event in Kaua‘i which is co-hosted with Kukui Grove Center.
