The Slack Key Music Center, based on the island of Kaua’i, is pleased to recognize the 2,000th on-island concert of Doug and Sandy McMaster, which is being performed on April 5, 2017 at All Saints’ Church in Kapaa at 6pm. Performing 4 concerts each week, they will be celebrating this achievement throughout the month at their concerts.

The McMasters have performed concerts of traditional and Kaua’i inspired music that highlights the beauty of this island for over two decades. Their music of and about Kaua’i is told in the authentic, traditional Hawaiian art form of slack key guitar and ukulele with stories telling its history.

The McMasters hold the distinction of being voted the #1 Best Live Show-Best of Kaua’i 2017 and Best Live Show in Hawaii in 2014 and 2015 in Hawaii Magazine Readers’ Choice Awards. Serving as ambassadors for ki ho’alu (slack key), Kaua’i, and Aloha, they have educated and entertained people from all over the world.

The Slack Key Music Center is a non-profit organization formed in Kaua’i to preserve and perpetuate traditional Hawaiian slack key guitar and ukulele music through transformative concert experiences, collecting and sharing of historical information and recordings, and fostering its future through new works, artists, and audiences.
