Island School Music Department

WHAT: Bistro Night!
WHO: Island School Alaka’i Chorus and Lighthouse Bistro
WHERE: Lighthouse Bistro, 2484 Keneke Street, Kilauea, Hawaii 96754
WHEN: Saturday, October 27, 2012
WHY: Fundraising in support of the Island School Alaka’i Chorus because in January, 58 members of the Island School Alaka’i Chorus will head to O’ahu for the 2013 Ho’olokahi High School Choral Festival. The chorus is excited to announce one of its most exciting fundraisers, aimed at offsetting the cost of attending this prestigious annual festival.

On October 27, Lighthouse Bistro in Kilauea will donate 30% of patrons’ dinner tabs to the Island School Alaka’i Chorus’s fundraising efforts. Lighthouse Bistro is located in the Historic Kong Lung Market Center, on the road to the famous Kilauea Lighthouse and Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge on the North Shore of Kaua’i. Parking is available in the Historic Kong Lung Market Center and across Kilauea Road.

Lighthouse Bistro has been serving great food and presenting live entertainment on the North Shore of Kaua’i in an open air Hawaiian plantation garden setting since 1999. Lighthouse Bistro uses fresh local produce and ingredients to create a great-tasting, unique European, Pacific Rim, fusion menu.

The Island School Alaka’i Chorus, founded by Philip Steinbacher in 2006, will head to O’ahu in January for a three-day choral festival. There, 58 of its members will join 300+ high school singers from across Hawai’i to rehearse and present a mass choral concert at Honolulu’s Central Union Church, under the direction of internationally recognized choral clinician and conductor, Dr. Edith Copley.

Here’s how Bistro Night works. Diners present a flyer to their server when placing their order to assure donations are made. The flyer is FREE. Download it by clicking here; or contact Island School at 246-0233; or email philip@ischool.org. Reservations are recommended. Call Lighthouse Bistro at 828-0480.
