CONGRESSIONAL GOLD MEDAL AWARD CEREMONY:

To honor our Nisei Veterans and pay tribute for their services

Vet Committee Needs Your Help …….

Lihue, Hi…On May 30, 2012 from 10am to 3pm at the Kauai Veterans Center will be the venue for a very special Award Ceremony.  Members of the 100th Infantry Battalion, 442nd Regimental Combat Team and Military Intelligence Service were recognized for their dedication and service at a ceremony held at the U.S. Capitol Building on November 2, 2011, in recognition of their dedicated service during world war II.  Many who served, nor their families were unable to make that trip to our Capitol for the ceremony.

The Kauai Veterans will be having a ceremony and luncheon here on Kaua`i on May 30, 2012, for those who were unable to attend the off island ceremony.  The members of the committee would like to present a bronze replica of the Congressional Gold Medal award to reflect gratitude for each veteran who served during WW II.  They are asking for your help.  In order to accomplish a successful ceremonious event they must raise the monies through donations.

They are seeking to raise  $20,000.00, most of which will be used towards the cost of the replica bronze duplicate gold medals to be presented,

Levels of recognized contributors are:

$100     Commendation

$200     Purple Heart

$500     Bronze Star

$1,000  Silver Star

It is through your kindness and generosity that this event will be memorable and a successful celebration for our WW II Veterans and their families.
