The Kaua‘i Community College Music Department will present a fully-staged musical production of Carnival a musical that has thrilled audiences since its Broadway premiere in 1961.

Directed by Greg Shepherd with choreography by Dallas McCurley, Carnival tells the story of Lili Daurier, a naive orphan from a tiny village in 1920 France who comes to the circus looking for something like home. Instead, she’s plunged into a world that forces her to grow up.

Kaua‘i natives Daphne Sanchez and Beorn Chantara play Lili and Paul Berthalet, the puppeteer who loves Lili but can’t bring himself to tell her.
