ANNUAL SUFI RETREAT ON KAUA’I
3 Days of Spiritual Teachings & Practice with Pir Shabda Kahn
MARCH 5TH-8TH,2015
Imagine slowing down, leaving behind your “to do lists”, your concerns, your usual routines. Imagine that for one affordable long weekend, devoting yourself to feeding your spirit as you come together with others of like mind and heart.
Kauai’s Annual Sufi Retreat will be led by Pir Shabda Kahn. Shabda is the appointed Spiritual Director of the Sufi Ruhaniat International.  He travels throughout the world spreading the Sufi Message of Love, Harmony and Beauty, bringing warmth, humor and clarity in his efforts to help seekers on their Path to Awakening. Shabda’s teaching style is relaxed, friendly, humorous, and accessible while at the same time laden with rich stories, and many many years of serious study.
This year’s focus will be on using Sufi teachings and practices for “Cultivating The Inner Life, Harmony with the Outer Life: growing seeds of Motivation Strength, Compassion & Ease.”
The retreat will be held in Princeville, Kaua’i at the Church of the Pacific, and begins with a community offering of the Dances of Universal Peace (Sufi Dances) held from 7:00 to 9:00pm. on March 5th. These dances are open to the public and can be attended without attending the rest of the retreat. No previous experience is needed and you do not need a partner. Using simple steps and movements that are taught easily, in a joyful atmosphere, the circle of dancers move together, singing, in many languages and from many cultural and religious traditions, to promote peace and awaken a connection to the Divine.
The Retreat continues on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 6th to 8th. Friday & Saturday from 10-6PM, Sunday from 1-9PM. We will immerse ourselves in sacred, restorative Sufi practices, including Zikr, meditations, and circle dances, which facilitate a deep and rich heart-opening experience.  We will expand our capacities to feel joyous and fulfilled.
