Anaina Hou Community Park will present a Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner from 4:00 to 6:00pm on Thanksgiving Day. The event will be held on the lawn at Kauai Mini Golf, located in Kilauea, and members of the community are invited to participate. Local band “Tangled Roots” will also be on site providing music to add to the festivities.

“We are truly honored to continue this annual tradition established by Bill and Joan Porter when they founded Anaina Hou to serve as a non-profit gathering place for our community,” shared Jordan Wyle, Executive Director of Anaina Hou. “As we celebrate this season of gratitude, we are pleased to invite those in need of a meal or without family and friends to share the day with, to join us at our Thanksgiving table.”

The organization is also seeking volunteers to help make the day a success. “We simply could not fulfill our mission and enrich the lives of our community without the enthusiasm, support and participation of so many members of our diverse community,” added Jordan. If you are interested in volunteering or donating food to support the Thanksgiving Dinner, community members are encouraged to contact Crystal Bilyeu, Community Outreach Manager, at (808) 652-6079 or crystal@anainahou.org.

This event is presented by Anaina Hou Community Park , the 16 acre non-profit campus in Kilauea that features Kauai Mini Golf and Botanical Gardens, a Café and Gift Store, access to hiking and mountain biking the Wai Koa Loop Trail, two weekly Farmers Markets featuring locally-grown produce, a Playground and Skate Park for our keiki, HI-5 redemption and more.

In 2016, they will open the Anaina Hou Performing Arts Center, which will include a 250-seat indoor theater, covered outdoor event space, conference rooms and a catering kitchen. This beautiful new gathering space for our community will host concerts, films, live theater, agricultural workshops, cultural and educational programs and more.
