Gallery Holds Artist’s Reception for Hope DeMarco on Friday, May 11

Puuwai Hao Kila Gallery in Hanapepe presents Ceramic Artist Hope DeMarco’s latest collection with an artist’s reception on Friday, May 11, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. The gallery is located at 3801 Hanapepe Rd., perfectly situated to attend the reception and also to move on to enjoy the offerings of many galleries during the town’s weekly Friday night art walk.

Expect a treat with DeMarco’s ceramics. She has a fine arts background in a number of two-dimensional media.

As for this collection, she says, “I enjoy making functional pieces for daily use that are utilitarian as well as beautiful. And I like the immediacy of working with clay, where I can create a piece directly with my hands.”

DeMarco says she’s pleased to be showing her pieces in Puuwai Hao Kila Gallery and enjoys being able to contribute to supporting the arts on Kaua`i.

She says, “I am constantly interested in and influenced by other artists, particularly those who are working in porcelain.”
