Surfrider Foundation hosts ‘friend-raiser’ June 21

International Surfing Day is June 20 and Surfrider Foundation is offering a membership special at $20. It includes membership, a t-shirt and discounts. New members can bring their receipt to receive entrance into the June 21 event “For Love of the Ocean” at Nawiliwili Yacht Club.

The event is a ‘friend-raiser” where the organization seeks to increase membership, raise awareness for Surfrider and thank volunteers for assistance with the monthly beach clean-ups. International Surfing Day is a worldwide celebration of the sport of surfing and an opportunity to give back to our coastal environments through various events organized by the Surfrider Foundation. Founded in 2005 by Surfrider Foundation and Surfing Magazine, International Surfing Day has gone from just a handful of local observances in the United States to more than 200 events in 30 countries worldwide.
