Lavay Smith and Her Red Hot Skillet Lickers: Red Clay Jazz Festival 2013 is bringing this hot Jazz Swing band to Kaua`i  June 29 at the Marriott Kauai Lagoons in Lihue.  If you like retro 40-50 swing jazz, you have to see this show.  The event is from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.  Maui Jazz Quartet with Emil Richards as well as the Kaua`i Pro-Am Show Band will be there too.  Tickets are $40.

Brion James:  This amazing musician will be visiting Kaua`i for only a few months.  Brion has a long history in the music biz and has played with many groups including Dan Reed Network, Edgar Winter Band & Babyface. He’s also toured with The Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, UB40, Baby Animals, David Bowie and others. He’s written and produced songs for Anastacia, Justin Timberlake, Brian McKnight, Souixie, New Flavor, The 411 & Total. His songs & music have also appeared in movies such as “Bad Boys”, “Love Stinks”, “Jordan to the Max”.  Brion James will be playing at Tortilla Republic in Poipu on Friday Nights from 8:30-10:30 p.m.

Darryl Gonzales:  This Hawaiian Music magic maker is one of Kaua`i’s fine jewels.  Just having finished his first CD, Into Existence, this talent has gone overlooked for too long!  Darryl Gonzales is at Seaview Terrace in the Grand Hyatt Poipu Mondays and Wednsdays from 6 p.m to 8 p.m.

AA-Alysons Anthem: One of Kauai’s premier rock bands, Alysons Anthem rages!  Coyly labeled “Cougar Punk” this band is fronted by sexy rocker Kim Tennberg.  She and her husband, Chris were big on the Cali music scene for years before moving to Kaua`i for family reasons.  Their fans in Cali are disappointed they don’t have the Cougar Punk Queen close at hand.  Sorry Cali, they’re Kauai’s Ohana now!  They bring their Rock heart and Raging Cougar pounce to the stage at Tomkats June 13, 11 p.m to 2 a.m.

Pancho Graham: This man is one of the most talented slack key guitar players in the Islands, and he lives on Kaua`i.  If you haven’t seen Pancho Graham in person, you are missing the music boat.  Pancho is graceful in temperament as well as tempo.  If you enjoy slack key and or want to be seriously schooled in slack key master guitar playing, you will find Pancho Graham at HukiLau Lani in Kapa`a on Friday evenings from 6-9 p.m.
