PR - Working, the musicalYou’ll laugh!  You’ll cry!  You’ll ask for a raise!

Tickets are now on sale for WORKING, THE MUSICAL, by Stephen Schwartz and Nina Fasso.  WORKING is based on the famous book by Studs Terkel of interviews with people about their jobs.  The Kauai Community Players production of WORKING is directed by Ross Martineau with musical direction by Arnold Meister and a cast of 12 of Kauai’s finest actor/singers, including Deb Baumung, Dottie Bekeart, Jeff Demma, Jennifer Downs, Erin Gaines, Bailey Hutton, Dennis McGraw, Arnold Meister, Billy Quibido, Jessica Silver, Delia Valentin, Ron Wood, and piano accompaniment by Alan Van Zee.

Opening night is Friday, May 3, running for three weekends through May 19 with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 7pm and Sundays at 4pm at the Puhi Theatrical Warehouse.  WORKING paints a vivid portrait of the men and women the world so often takes for granted: the schoolteacher, the phone operator, the waitress, the millworker, the mason, and the housewife, just to name a few. The music is written by several different composers, including Stephen Schwarz, Mary Rogers and James Taylor. WORKING is a musical exploration of 26 people from all walks of life. Both funny and touching, the strength of the show is in the core truths that transcend specific professions; the key is how people’s relationships to their work ultimately reveal significant aspects of their humanity, regardless of the trappings of the job itself. The show, set in contemporary America, contains timeless truths and allows the audience to get a rare glimpse of the actors and technicians working to put on a show.

Tickets are $25 with $5 off opening weekend and discounts for KCP members, seniors and students.  For tickets, go towww.brownpapertickets.com/event/370807 or call
