Climate Crisis Forum — Waste Reduction and Climate Change

Learn how we can build a healthier, more resilient Kaua‘i that can flourish in the face of climate change and environmental challenges.

In the first series of four public forums on the climate crisis hosted by the National Tropical Botanical Garden, community leaders and climate representatives of local organizations will discuss the connections between waste and climate change and how our community can work together to reduce waste.

The forum will include interactive presentations and “speed dating” talks with panelists from participating organizations including County of Kaua‘i, Office of Economic Opportunity/Aloha+ Challenge, Kaua‘i Community College, County of Kaua‘i Solid Waste Division, Zero Waste Kaua‘i, Surfrider Foundation, Leadership Kaua‘i, Apollo Kaua‘i and NTBG.

The Waste Reduction and Climate Change forum will be Wednesday, Feb. 19 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Light refreshments and water will be provided. Attendees are asked to bring refillable water bottles. This and upcoming events for the Climate Crisis Forum series will be held at Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall — Annex, at 4191 Hardy St. in Lihu‘e.

Upcoming forum events are: Health and Climate Change, April 15; Coastal Flooding and Infrastructure, June 17; and Food Security and Farming, Aug. 19.
