The Salvation Army to host Red Kettle Kickoff at Kukui Grove Center on Nov. 16

– The Hanapepe and Lihue Corps will officially launch Red Kettles and Angel Trees on Saturday –
Lihue, Kauai, HI (Nov. 13, 2019) – The Salvation Army Lihue Corps and Hanapepe Corps are hosting a Red Kettle Kickoff event at Kukui Grove Center this Saturday, Nov. 16, from 10 a.m. to noon. The event will be held at Center Court stage in the food court area. Highlights will include performances by the Hanapepe Corps kapuna choir and the Lihue Corps junior choir and hula halau, among others. The program also will officially launch the Red Kettles and Angel Trees for the holiday season on Kauai.
“We’re so grateful to for the strong support our island communities provide each year,” said Captain Bill Simon, Lihue Corps Officer and Kauai County Coordinator for The Salvation Army. “And, we encourage the community to come out to Kukui Grove Center and join us in the ‘Fight for Good’ as we launch our red kettles and angel trees for this Christmas season.”
Donations to The Salvation Army’s Red Kettles support community-based programs in the area of the island where each donation is made. Similarly, The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program supports keiki and kupuna in need in communities across the island with donors providing new toys, clothing and other gifts. New for 2019, individuals and families can make monetary donations or create personalized Online Angel Tree fundraisers.
