A public meeting regarding the reopening of Black Pot Beach Park in Hanalei, Kaua‘i’s North Shore is set for Thursday, July 11, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Hanalei School cafeteria, according to a news release from the County of Kaua‘i.

Black Pot Beach Park has been closed since the heavy rain and flooding on April 14, 2018, which left the park and adjacent road heavily damaged.

“This meeting is to discuss the work that has been completed and the plans for reopening the beach park, which include public parking areas, boat ramps, and other park-related updates,” Director of Parks and Recreation Patrick Porter said. “We thank the public, as well as the North Shore community for your continued patience with this project.”

Contact the County Department of Parks and Recreation at 241-4460 for questions.
