Casting Call for ‘The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged’

Do you like Shakespeare? Do you hate Shakespeare? Do you think that Shakespeare is just okay? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged might be for you!

Kaua‘i Community Players’ third show of the 2019 season will be The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged directed by Ross Martineau.

Auditions will be on Friday, Dec. 21 from 5-7 p.m. at the Puhi Theatrical Warehouse. Actors will be asked to read from the script. Also prepare at least one (audience friendly) joke.

Show Synopsis:

All 37 Plays in 97 Minutes. TCWoWS, A is an irreverent, fast-paced romp through the all of the Bard’s plays. Join these madcap men in tights as they weave their wicked way through all of Shakespeare’s comedies, histories and tragedies in one wild ride that will leave audiences breathless and helpless with laughter.

Character Breakdown:

Triple-threat male comedians: adept at mixing scripted and improvisational theater as well as understanding and communicating Shakespearean language. Age is not a factor for any of the three roles (wait, ok, must be 21-ish or older), but the ability to perform highly physical comedy is a must (see “fast-paced” above).

Thursdays through Sundays: March 28 – April 14
