The National Tropical Botanical Garden invites everyone, residents and visitors alike, to a special screening of Coco, Pixar’s animated and colorful tribute to family, at “Movie Nights at the Garden” on Saturday, Aug. 25.

The free screening will be on the meadow at the South Shore Visitor’s Center at 4425 Lāwa‘i Road in Po‘ipū, across from Spouting Horn. Gates open at 6:00 PM and the movie will start shortly after sunset. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or low beach chairs for seating.

Food and drinks from several local food trucks will be available for purchase including: Frozen Delights offering shakes, shave ice, ice cream, acai bowls, smoothies and more; Ono Pops featuring frozen local fruit popsicles; gourmet delights from Kickshaws; Granny Feelgood’s Kettle Corn; and Live Fire Pizza.  Keiki activities including face painting by Ashly Trask and COGS from KCC “Cognition Learning Center” will also take place before the movie.

“Our June Movie Night was a fun and successful event,” said Tobias Koehler, Director of the South Shore Gardens. “The movies are a great way for us to connect with the community and our visitors, and to partner with local businesses while showcasing our gardens and sharing our mission of perpetuating the survival of the plants, ecosystems and cultures of this tropical region.”

Koehler added Movie Night is a free event, but donations are gladly accepted and will help fund research, conservation, and public education programs at NTBG.

NTBG said it would especially like to thank our generous event sponsors, Koloa Bass Fishing, Kaua‘i ATV, and Koloa Zipline, for their commitment to NTBG’s mission and the Kaua‘i community.
