Now till-May 13 Kauai Habitat for Humanity 7th Women Build Week
National Women Build Week is a Habitat for Humanity International initiative created by its Women Build program where women are invited to devote at least one day to help families build strength, stability, and independence through housing. The week is meant to spotlight the homeownership challenges faced by women. Habitat and Lowe’s encourage all women to volunteer no construction skills or experience in Habitat builds necessary. In the spring of 2017, artists from around the U.S., Australia, Chile and Japan came together for the second year of the NTBG Florilegium. Unlike other florilegia, artists spent two weeks working alongside one another, sharing and experiencing the garden together. This work session produced the stunning pieces being exhibited, today. May 15-17 Mana Lomi’ili’ili (Hawaiian Hot Stone Therapy) Training
This intensive training invites you to experience the traditional and ancient Hawaiian art form of hot stone therapy that is specific to the individual’s needs. Each student will learn how to collect stones using proper protocols, how to heat the stones and control the temperature, and how to clean the stones. Saturday, June 2, 6 am, 38th Annual Haena to Hanalei Run or Walk
Run or walk one of the world’s most beautiful courses, and enjoy a delicious pancake breakfast at the finish! The 8 mile course begins at the end of the road in Ha’ena at Ke’e Beach, then traverses the scenic stretch of road, and one-lane bridges, along the breathtaking North Shore towards Hanalei town, ending at the historic Hanalei Pier. New for this year we are excited to add a Half Marathon to the run options. The Half Marathon starts near the Hanalei Pier and heads out to Ha’ena Beach Park, where it turns around and heads back to Hanalei Town and finishes at the pier.
