Kaua‘i Ultimate Recruiting for First Ever Spring League Season

It’s been more than 20 years of Ultimate on Kaua‘i, and they have had some pretty darn good pickup games. Well, time has come for the next level — the first ever Kaua‘i Ultimate League.

Come join the fun Kaua‘i Ultimate crew for their inaugural six-week season and see what all the hype is about. It’s a fun game and an amazing community. If you are older than 13, this game is for you. All skill levels are welcomed, and this includes absolute beginners.

All games are co-eds. All you need is a light and a dark shirt (for making teams) and something to drink. Cleats are optional but something for your feet is highly recommended at Lydgate in the summer. If it rains, oh well, it’s Kaua‘i. We all get wet here every now and then.

The games are at Lydgate Park South Sports Fields. Just look for people throwing a disc on the southernmost field. In the past, the Kaua‘i Ultimate crew would occasionally be bumped by a soccer game. Whenever that happened, you could find them fighting the onshore breeze on the field by Kamalani playground. But since they got permits to play on the Lydgate South Field, no one has to face the soccer moms anymore.

Pickup games are Sundays at 4 p.m., and Tuesday and Thursday at 5 p.m. Once the season starts, pickup games will be after the league game each week (look at the schedule below). The crew usually hangs out to talk story afterward, so feel free to stick around and pillage the coolers. Check the mailing list if you have any questions. They’re pretty good about letting the list know about any rainouts or cancellations.
