The County of Kaua‘i Housing Agency just announced an upcoming public meeting to present the draft Environmental Assessment for the Pua Loke Affordable Housing Development project.

The meeting will be held this Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Līhu‘e Civic Center, Pi‘ikoi Building Conference Room A in Līhu‘e. The proposed housing development would include up to 60 multi-family affordable-rental housing units together with onsite parking areas that would be located in Līhu‘e.

The proposed project would accommodate a blend of affordable incomes, and would include units to serve those experiencing homelessness.

The meeting is being held in order to present the proposed project and receive comments from the public in accordance with Chapter 343, Hawai‘i Revised Statutes (HRS) and associated Title 11, Chapter 200, Hawai‘i Administrative Rules (HAR); Environmental Impact Statement Rules, as well as the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) (40 Code of Federal Regulations [CFR] Parts 1500-1508) and 24 CFR Part 58; Environmental Review Procedures for Entities Assuming HUD Environmental Responsibilities.

All interested persons who wish to comment on the draft Environmental Assessment may do so at the public meeting, or may submit written comments to Kaua‘i County Housing Agency, 4444 Rice Street, Suite 330, Līhu‘e, Hawai‘i 96766, Attn: Koa Duncan or via email at kduncan@kauai.gov.
