CERT Announces Upcoming Classes in Līhu‘e

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) announces upcoming training courses in Līhu‘e.

Classes will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., every Wednesday beginning Jan. 10 through Feb. 14, at the Kaua‘i Fire Department Training Center, located at 4444 Rice Street, Ste. 315.

CERT is a six-week disaster and emergency preparedness course that is tailored to citizens and taught by firefighters. It is free to residents as part of a program sponsored by the Kaua‘i Fire Department and the Kaua‘i Emergency Management Agency.

Participants will learn about different types of disasters and how to prepare and respond. Topics will include fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization and first aid.

Additional classes will be held islandwide. Dates and locations of upcoming classes will be announced as they are confirmed.
