The Kaua‘i Historical Society is calling all its members and the Kaua‘i community to attend its gala event, The Threads of Kaua‘i’s History, at the Kaua‘i Marriott Resort and Beach Club at Kalapaki Beach Oct. 28 from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
Building on the success of last year’s Hōʻike Holokū Gala, this year’s event encompasses the attire of all cultures. In addition, KHS will honor Phyllis Kunimura and Bob Schleck for their tireless efforts in restoring the Historic County Building in Lihu‘e, the current location of KHS office.
KHS encourages attendees to wear clothing reflecting the cultures of Kaua‘i and share it on the runway.
There will be pupus, a cash bar and several prizes, with entertainment from Keli‘i Kaneali‘i, Garrett Santos, Mark Rossi and Pua Rossi Fukino.
Tickets are available at www.kauaihistoricalsociety.org until Oct. 25. KHS members pay $60, non-members pay $75, and students pay $40. Sponsorships are available for $100 (one adult plus a student), and tables of 10 are available for $600.
