The Agency on Elderly Affairs (AEA) will be hosting “Live Well, Age Well,” a symposium for our kupuna that focuses on healthier choices, at the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall on Thursday, August 17, at 3 p.m.

The symposium will feature a community resource fair with vendors offering services for kupuna, a meet and greet with the agency’s volunteers as well as a healthy meal cook off with a few of Kaua‘i’s elected officials and special guests.

Wilcox Hospital’s Nicole Siever will be speaking on healthy eating, and the chef from Wilcox will be on hand to oversee the contestants. There will also be a drawing for four people from the audience to judge the creations.

A healthy meal will be provided for attendees.

Dr. Dennis Pezzato will be a special guest speaker and will be talking about brain health in the later years during the latter half of the symposium.

Volunteers of the agency will be in attendance to speak about their involvement with AEA and explain the importance of volunteering.

After the event, attendees will have a chance to speak with some elected officials.
