Anaina Hou Community Park (home of Kauai Mini Golf) to present Anaina Hou 2nd Mo`olelo Series

Anaina Hou Community Park is continuing a series of free community events this year. They will present the 2nd Anaina Hou Mo`olelo Series event on April 21, 2017, at the Christ Memorial Church Parish Hall in Kilauea. This “talk story” series is designed to bring our community together to honor our past through stories from kupuna and historians, celebrating the history and cultural traditions of life in Kilauea and across the North Shore of Kauai.

“We are very honored to continue our series, this month featuring stories of plantation days in Kilauea by Uncle Gary Pacheco and a group of friends, and facilitated by Uncle Gary Smith,” shared Thomas Daubert, Executive Director of Anaina Hou Community Park. “This is our first panel presentation and we are all in for a treat as they share stories with us.”

This free community event will be held at the Parish Hall in Kilauea on Friday, April 21, 2017. Members of the Kilauea Social Club will provide welcoming music beginning at 5:30pm and the talk will run from 6:00 to 7:30pm.

This event is presented by Anaina Hou Community Park, a non-profit organization located near the heart of Kilauea on the North Shore of Kauai. The organization and was established in 2010 to provide the Kauai community with an exciting new gathering place focused on art, education, recreation and agriculture. Today, Anaina Hou features Kauai Mini Golf and Botanical Gardens, a Café and Gift Store, access to hiking and mountain biking the Wai Koa Loop Trail, two weekly Farmers Markets featuring local food and crafts, a Playground and Skate Park for keiki, HI-5 redemption and more.
