National Tropical Botanical Garden and Kaua‘i Community College present ‘Seeds of Thought’ lecture series with Tobias Koehler, Tuesday, at 5:30 p.m.

Join National Tropical Botanical Garden’s Director of South Shore Gardens Tobias Koehler for a talk about the flora of Mt. Kilimanjaro at Kaua‘i Community College next week.

Tobias will discuss how extreme elevation and climatic changes along the savanna and slopes of Africa’s most iconic mountain are shaping plants and other wildlife. Learn about amazing African plants and how Kilimanjaro’s ecosystems compare with Hawai‘i’s volcanoes.

“Botanizing up Kilimanjaro,” which is part of the “Seeds of Thought” lecture series, will be held at KCC next Tuesday, starting at 5:30 p.m.

The “Seeds of Thought” series is one of many collaborations between the nonprofit NTBG and KCC. Both share a common goal of quality education to truly change lives. NTBG is a nonprofit institution, headquartered in Kalāheo. KCC, which is part of the University of Hawai‘i system, operates a large campus in Puhi.
