2017 All Angels Jazz Festival Feb. 3-5

Some of the finest Hawai‘i jazz musicians will be on Kaua‘i for the 11^th edition of one the best jazz festivals on the island. The 11^th annual All Angels Jazz Festival takes place Feb. 3-5 at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Lihu‘e.

Opening night’s concert, Friday, Feb. 3, features Abe Lagrimas Jr. with Noel Okimoto, along with Hot Club of Hulaville at 7 p.m. Tickets are $50 in advance and $60 at the door.

Saturday, Feb. 4, concert features Bruce Hamada with Matt Lemmler and Abe Lagrimas Jr., along with Maggie Herron, Abe Lagrimas Jr. and Dean Taba, starting also at 7 p.m. Tickets are $50 in advance and $60 at the door.

On the last day, Sunday morning at 8:30 and 11 a.m., the Jazz Mass features the music of Duke Ellington, with Matt Lemmler , the All Star Band, All Angels Jazz Mass Choir, soloists Karen Dickinson and Greta Matassa, and tap dancers Nialani Green and Blade Kanekuni.

To cap off the festival, “Night Bird Song,” a special documentary film by Stephanie Castillo on the life of jazz musician Thomas Chapin, will be shown at 7 p.m.

All events on Sunday are free and open to everyone.
