Emily Elbert Plays at Hanalei Strings Sunday Evening

A year ago, singer and songwriter Emily Elbert shared the stage on Kaua‘i with long-time friend and collaborator, Peter Sprague. Now the 28-year-old folk/soul/jazz/pop artist is back on Kaua‘i for an intimate performance at Hanalei Strings Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

“Hanalei Strings provides such a welcoming, creative environment,” Emily said. “I’ll look forward to playing for Kaua‘i locals and visitors in their cozy music haven.”

Emily’s music weaves together a rhythmic funk-folk blend of introspection and celebration. Anchored by intricate guitar work and an old-soul voice, her songs offer progressive perspective while paying tribute to the timeless.

“Pouring her heart and soul into her songs, we’re not sure which is more impressive, her humble spirit or her unbelievable talent,” the Crown of the Continent Guitar Festival recently wrote about the artist.

The Texas-bred songwriter graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston and has carried her music around the world, playing over a thousand independent shows, from Scotland to Spain to Singapore. She has independently released four albums, as well as two new singles, “Letting Go” and “Here & Now.”

As a solo artist, Emily has opened for acts including Leon Russell, Victor Wooten, G. Love & Special Sauce, Robben Ford, Raul Midon, Richie Havens, and Tuck & Patti.

Emily’s music has garnered praise from publications like The Washington Post, Utne Reader and Glamour Magazine, won awards in the U.S. and U.K., and attracted more than two million YouTube views. Through authentic song sharing, she strives for a deepening sense of human and spiritual connection that is accessible to all.
