Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr.’s statement re. LUC’s approval of the Robinson Family Partners’ petition for Important Agricultural Lands

Today’s action by the Land Use Commission marks a significant milestone for our state as Kaua‘i is now the first county to have all of its large private landowners place the majority of their lands into IAL protection. I would like to thank the Robinson Family for working with our Planning Department in voluntarily seeking this designation, which will preserve an agricultural legacy on our island for generations.
