7TH ANNUAL WESTIN PRINCEVILLE JAZZ AND WINE FESTIVAL

Kaua‘i’s Best Chefs, World-Class Wines and Live Jazz September 17, 2016

Hawai‘i kama‘āina and visitors are invited to mingle and savor an evening under the stars at The Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas’ 7th Annual Westin Princeville Jazz and Wine Festival on Saturday, September 17, 2016. The event will be held from 5:30 p.m. on the resort’s main lawn overlooking the Pacific Ocean high above Anini Beach and will feature an array of wine, island-inspired cuisine and lively jazz music with a headlining performance by saxophonist Michael Paulo. The proceeds from the event’s annual Silent Auction will benefit the Kaua‘i Lifeguard Association.

Set against a backdrop of Kaua‘i’s pristine north shore, The Westin Princeville Jazz and Wine Festival offers a wide range of dishes from the island’s premier chefs, including The Westin Princeville’s Nanea Restaurant & Bar and Wailele Bar, Sheraton Kauai Resort’s RumFire Poipu Beach, St. Regis Princeville’s Kauai Grill & Makana Terrace, Bar Acuda, Hukilau Lanai and more. Guests will have the chance to pair the delicious fare with over 30 wines from a variety of sought-after vineyards. The night’s entertainment will kick off with a dynamic performance by Joyful Noise taiko drumming, a performance by 2014 headliner Amit Heri, and Michael Paulo and band’s feature performance.

Michael Paulo is one of the most versatile and cosmopolitan saxophonists in pop, soul and contemporary jazz and has added his distinct “saxpertise” to a virtual who’s who of artists for nearly 35 years, including James Ingram, Rick Braun and Peter White, Oleta Adams, Kenny Loggins, Patti Austin and many more. He will be accompanied by Zanuck Lindsey (guitar), Randall Aloya (bass), Garin Poliahu (drums) and Michael Ruff (keyboards).

Throughout the evening, a silent auction will benefit Kaua‘i Lifeguard Association that will include hotel stays, airfare, activities, dining certificates and more as part of The Westin Princeville’s year-long, ongoing effort to give back to its community. The Kaua‘i Lifeguard Association is a non-profit organization that aims to maximize ocean safety in and around Kaua‘i waters through education, training and maintaining high standards of professional and open-water lifesaving practices and techniques. The resort has raised over $90,000 for the Kaua‘i Lifeguard Association through past Jazz & Wine events.

Tickets are $95 per person, and includes entertainment, an etched Jazz & Wine Festival wine glass, food, wine and non-alcoholic beverages (tax & gratuity included). To purchase tickets or to book the resort’s villa accommodations, call The Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas at (808) 827-8700, or visit www.westinprinceville.com.
